PART 1

Happy Summer!. My son still has a few school days left, but I'm already thinking about clearing out the file in the drawer where I've placed all his school work throughout the year. I saved it all because my assistant said she had to come up with some of her child's work at the end of the year for him to get a grade (or he was going to have to do it again) due to the teacher forgetting to mark it in her grade book. Luckily I have not had to prove anything like that, but I did follow her advice and save it all. But believe me, when the grades are in - it's out of here! I have started one box in the storage room (luckily I have a giant storage room to afford the opportunity to do this, and luckily again - I only have one kid!) where I'll save a few (and that really means two or three!) pieces or work from each year. I don't buy into the guilt trip or sentimentality of saving everything - just the pieces that are very artistic or unique - or that show some character trait or fad that might be funny later on in life (like my son's writing obsession about his favorite thing: the Soup Plantation restaurant.)

My advice is: Don't save everything - or even most everything - even if you have the room. Be choosy!

PART 2

I'm sure most of you who have been "with me for a long time" will be shocked, but I'm thinking of writing another book. So, with that said, I'm requesting notes from my readers (who are moved to do so) that would be appropriate to include in my proposal. Since most of you who do write tell me how you've purchased several copies of Move Your Stuff, and can't wait to read more, I thought it might make a nice addition to the marketing part of the proposal. Just say what comes from your heart and send it on over. I thank you in advance!

Next month I want to talk about harmful electromagnetic pollution and how many things in your immediate environment have it - like your blow dryer for example. So, if you're thinking of buying a new blow dryer, you might want to hold off a bit! Question: I work very hard and receive very little for it. I killed myself to get my masters degree and thought that if I started my own practice, everything would fall into place. But in spite of all my hard work and continuous efforts, I struggle each month to pay the bills. I hardly have time for anything else in life besides seeing clients so naturally I have little time for feng shui - BUT I am willing to give it a chance. Can you give me your quickest turn around cure for prosperity as I seem to have so little of it? I feel like I'm on the hamster wheel to nowhere.

Answer: Sometimes it is just as effective to work on the chicken as it is the egg. If you're looking for something to move around in your house to gain prosperity - think again. My recommendation is to move something around in your mind. I have never seen such negativity in a question! I felt icky just reading it! There are several energy laws of which you appear to be unaware. Allow me to point them out.

Law #1 - Don't believe everything you think.

Try heartfelt generosity for a change. If you are short on time or money - volunteer for a local charity or donate money. Making the bold move to give when you appear to have lack with shows the universal energies that you believe in its ability to send even more your way. Perhaps the first time (or the first 50) you try this paradoxical endeavor it may feel strange, but from your letter, it sounds like at this point you believe you have so little to lose. Just surrender. Get cocky and make a wildly bold donation somewhere. I swear to you - it's the ticket to turning this "fast-moving hamster wheel to nowhere" around!

Law #2 - Thoughts are things. Energy follows thought.

If you think that to make more money you have to see more clients, you are mistaken. The fact that you complained about lacking both time and money shows how this improper thought of lack is manifesting. Time is Money is a common phrase. Can you see how you have connected them?

Take a moment (time) to stop and consciously be grateful for every thing - large or small - that you receive. Then, energy will follow the thoughts of gratitude rather than lack. Which brings us to the next law.

Law #3 - Like attracts like.

You are simply concentrating on the lack and you are getting a bunch more of it.

CONCENTRATE on wealth instead! Look at everything you have - tangible or intangible - and feel grateful for it! Some people's wildest dream is to go to college. YOU DID IT! Start there.

Law #4 - The more clear you are with the universe in feeling terms, the more precise your response from the universe will be. Feelings propel (or fuel) manifestation.

Your belief that you have to work hard to get anything is where the train derailed. This is a false belief. You certainly have to do your part, but it is only as hard as you want to make it or actually believe it should be. (That's the like attracts like rule again) Here's what I mean by "doing your part."

Show up with an idea about what you are really wanting. Is it really the money for the bills, or is it the feeling of safety and security because you have a roof over your head that you really want? Get clear that it is the feeling not the green paper with presidents on it.

Close your eyes and feel how you would feel if you didn't have to worry about money. Can you actually get yourself to visualize this possibility? If you can't, all the work in the world is not going to get you there, because you don't even acknowledge it as a possibility in your mind!

Law #5 - If you keep doing what you've always done (and thought), you'll always get what you always got.

If you don't know what else to do, why not try doing the same thing, but thinking differently about it.

Show up with a good attitude and faith or a belief that the universe is ever abundant.

Be grateful for every little morsel you get instead of looking at it as not enough.

Expect and look for miracles and gifts that come your way. Start noticing. Yes, it might be tiny specs at first (or not!), but hey you've got to start somewhere!

And if you want to try doing something differently, do it! If you turn left out of your driveway to go to work, try turning right. If you eat lunch at your desk each day, try the bench or lawn in front of the office building! Shake it up! Get out of your rut - mentally and physically. Take a stand that you are different because you decided you are. Energy follows thought, right?

The most popular cure in my book is the ol' helpful people box. If you want to do something, try sitting down and writing down the feelings that you want to feel when all this turns around for you (as opposed to the stuff you want.) Use a thesaurus or dictionary. Look up words on the internet whatever. Try out the feelings and see if they are a good fit and then add them to your list. If you can't even figure out how to feel a particular feeling, start by imagining how someone else would react if they were feeling it. Then slowly integrate it into being you. Do this physical ritual consistently to help the mind stay on course. Write down everything that you are grateful for too. If this cure helps you make the time to change your mind, then do it. Place all these writings in your helpful people box and placed that box in the front right-hand area of your desk, bedroom or home.

I truly believe that changing your mind is the answer and that it will be way more powerful than changing the physical stuff around in your home. Sure, it wouldn't hurt to get the egg in order, but if the chicken wouldn't recognize a gift if it knocked it in the head, why bother?

1. As the kids get out of school, take a moment to clean out the school papers, etc. and organize the pictures before it gets away from you. If you have the need to save stuff, choose wisely and make it clearly and store it properly using my 50% rule - that is having an equal amount of space in the storage area as the container you are storing. Don't wait until the new school year starts to deal with the clutter of this year.

2. Trim off any dead blooms from this spring's landscape. This is a great time to re-mulch if you have not done so already. Invite fresh chi into your outdoor summer hangout spaces by removing anything dead and possibly adding some fresh plants or flowers!

3. Check spray patterns of all sprinkler heads if you have an irrigation system. I often see heads spraying the street and missing the plants and I'm sure it's because they come on very early in the morning and no one is looking! Water waste is prosperity waste!
